Recruiting Update

With just one more weekend left before signing day, things are starting to take shape for Toledo's 2011 football recruiting class. This past weekend Rocket coaches hosted 7 key recruits. One was OL Paul Wisniewski of Illinois. Wisniewski committed to the Rockets earlier today.

Another offensive line recruit on campus was Mike McQueen of Garfield Heights High School in Akron, OH. McQueen is also considering offers from Indiana and Bowling Green. He is planning on visiting Indiana next weekend, and might visit Bowling Green during the middle of this week. McQueen was paired with UT offensive lineman Phil Manley during his visit to Toledo.

A very high profile recruit that was on campus this weekend is wide receiver Shane Wynn of Glenville High School in Cleveland, OH. Wynn is a high three star prospect with several BCS offers. He visited Penn State last weekend and then Ohio State this weekend. There is no doubt that former Glenville stars and current Rockets WR Cordale Scott, QB Terrance Owens, and LB James Gordan are playing a role in the recruitment of Wynn. Recent UT enrollee Jordan Haden has ties to the Cleveland area and knows Wynn as well.

Another prospect that is high on Toledo's list is wide receiver Justin Olack. Olack has been committed to Pittsburgh, but he took an official visit to Toledo last weekend. He was paired with UT OL Jeff Myers, a friend that he played football with at Massillon Washington High School. This weekend he took an official visit to Pittsburgh, and after he got home from the visit he was still trying to decide between Toledo and Pittsburgh.
